The last few years have been troublesome for the planet in numerous ways as most of us would agree. Wars and natural catastrophes have plagued the earth and brought about high oil prices and unstable political conditions that are promised to increase in 2008. Carl Calleman says that it will be the year most likely for something like "Armageddon" to occur, according to the Mayan Calendar. There are other sources that predict the same thing, some of which are cited below. Many of the entries are new and some are updated from last year, and others remain simply because of their relevance.
So hold on, folks, we are one year closer to 2012. And for true believers (though none can honestly tell you what is actually going to happen) they say that year is going to be a real doozy but not "the end." The Mayans themselves never stated it was the end either.  Their calendar simply terminates at 2012. Because of the abrupt conclusion to this ancient and complex oracle, some people believe that this symbolically brings our reality to a close while ushering in an era of transformation, or shift. Others believe the end of the calendar indicates a literal culmination and predicts a future that most of us would rather not consider.

The former conjecture makes more sense to me because it's the most beneficial for the human race as opposed to the other radical possibilities, such as getting smashed by Planet X, being sizzled by the sun, or being invaded by cannibal aliens. The notion of a "transformation," even though it appears to be a long-shot at this point, is the so-called surge in human "consciousness." Most people who study the calendar say this is already occurring; although by watching the evening news you wouldn't know it.

In hindsight, technology, beginning with fire, has led to the computer and the hydrogen bomb. But our consciousness seems to have reached an impasse. I liken it to a bunch of baboons playing with matches, and that can't be a good thing. We are currently into the "5th Night" of the Galactic Cycle. Click on link to get a perspective on what this means.

And for a real sobering picture of what all this might indicate, check out this link.  It may not be the end of the world, but this information suggests there's going to be one hell of a house cleaning...

Past Predictions:

Horizontal Divider 1

  • The National Center for Atmospheric Research predicts that the next solar storms will bring severe disruptions in communication technology and impact our world in adverse ways.  The upcoming cycle is expected to begin in late 2007 or early 2008, and reach its peak in 2012. Read full article here.

  • The 2012 Enigma is a video lecture given by David Wilcock who has a remarkable resemblance to Edgar Cayce and, in fact, is said to be just that.  His website has additional information for people who want to know what awaits us in the very near future.

  • George Green is one fascinating individual with an equally remarkable life.   But what he has to say is even more out of the ordinary.  If you're interested in what the future will bring, you must listen to this guy.  Check out this video.  And click here for an interview with him concerning the current financial mess we're in.  You don't have to believe him, just listen.

  • An acquaintance of George Green is Billy Meier, famed Plaeidian contactee.  Last I heard Meier still had Green on his blacklist.  But Meier has a lot of people on his blacklist so there's no point going into it here.  Suffice to say that Meier claims exclusive rights to the Plaeidians and anyone else claiming contact with them are frauds and liers, according to him.  Sounds to me like a lover's possessiveness.  Something that was found in Jane Roberts as well over her jealous assertion that Seth worked only through her and  no one else.  What's important here is that Meier claims to have been prophesying for as long as I've been on the planet.  An interesting item I came across is a letter he wrote and sent to world governments in 1951 at the age of 14.  Besides this vision of the future—our current time frame—there are other prophecies he received from his Plaeidian contact, Plejaren Ptaah, that are worth looking at, especially now that we are at the threshold of continuing or falling back.  Although these prophecies sound far more horrendous than what is found in the Book of Revelation, it must be understood that these devastating events need not come to pass.  It is totally up to the human race to alter these nightmares.  Keep in mind that prophetic events are not set in stone. They can be halted, altered, or watered down, depending on the collective mind-frame (consciousness) and actions of the people.

  • Dr. Carl Johan Calleman has written two scholarly books on the Mayan Calendar. The books designates the ancient calendar as the mother of all oracles because of its breath and scope in using "time" as an indicator of what's in store for humanity. Because of its shrouded mystery, not much has been gathered from its encrypted and very convoluted message, until recently.  Calleman spells out what the Mayan Calendar is without ambivalence, leaving the reader with a better understanding than any other source I've come across. Check out his website.  For additional information on the calendar check out Mayan-Calendar-Code.com.  This site follows Calleman's take on the calendar to the letter.  Also, for Dr. Calleman's assessment of the Mid-East crisis, click here.  And for an audio interview with him, check out this MP3.

  • In keeping with the increased interest in the year 2012 and the Mayan Calendar, The Year 2012 blog continues to add information.  It maintains that current events foreshadow what is coming our way, changing us forever from the inside out, baking our bodies, minds and souls with "cosmic energies" that are bombarding us right now as never before in history.  Also interesting is a video on the subject titled The Doomsday Clock -2012 which goes deep into historical sources as well as modern day Illuminati-Alien connections.  The piece runs over an hour, but worth it.

  •  John Hogue, Nostradamus scholar, says, "Beginning with this year [2007] and running through 2008, we cross a line drawn in time between the 'late afternoon' and the 'night' of one very long 'day' in cosmic time. This 'day' also marks the end and the beginning of two great ages. Many are quite enamored with signifying the year 2012 as the end of time and history as we know it by purported calculations and prophecies attributed to the Mayan Calendar. I tell you sincerely, that events in 2012, however earth shaking for good or ill, will weigh in as an afterthought or a continuance of what began to take shape from events for things to come in 2007--2008."  For more, click hereIt should be noted that Nostradamus foresaw the "end of the world" somewhere around 3797 A.D.  However, this does not dilute the fact that we can still go through some extraordinary changes between now and then.  I'm sure Europeans enduring the years of the Black Plague must have thought that the end was most certainly at hand.  And, though the world is still here, dinosaurs are no longer with us.

  • There are a lot of theories about what will happen in 2012, but no one seems to really know with any certainty.  The people at 2012: Dire Gnosis have some interesting information, specifically about what remote viewers have seen beyond 2012, which is nothing.  Fear not; according to the info this just means "if a remote viewer in 1997 cannot see beyond 2012 it is to a large degree because the world(s) beyond 2012 have not been conceived of yet, or we are just perceiving/creating them now… THAT is the nature of the new time."  Make sense? The site is convoluted and bizarre with plenty of information to think about and throw into the kettle with everything else that's out there regarding this milestone year.

  • The people at returnofplanet-x.com say that the monster planet will be making it's first pass through the solar system around 2009, and its second pass in 2012.  Forecasts in general are pretty hairy.  One such prediction: "Expect a swift-moving and decisive (1-3 day) Middle-East nuclear war (mid-2009) between Israel and her threatening neighbors on all sides. It's widely believed that Israel's nuclear arsenal contains both low/high yield weapons (containing both conventional battlefield and missile-based technology.) Naturally, Israel will prevail but her bitter victory will certainly further unite and foment the hatred and resolve of her enemies to destroy the Jewish state once-and-for-all." Their sell site, bookmasters.com, has some interesting graphics and added info.  As things go, if there is any truth to what they say, save your money.  It's so close to the end of the timeline that it really makes no difference, if what they say is true. There isn't a whole lot you can do except hope to get "raptured" at the last moment. Otherwise, we're all just a bunch of burnt toast.

  • The Mayan Majix has a list of predictions from an assortment of people, dead and alive. They update regularly and cover a wide range of predictions from around the globe.

  • The "Time Wave Zero" theory asserts that the Chinese oracle, the I Ching, has a mathematical termination date on December 21, 2012.  And in this video, Terrence McKenna, father of said theory, explores the subject only as he can.  But, honestly, I think you have to be a radical mathematician/visionary to really understand this as intended.

  • Chief Arvol Looking Horse, Keeper of the Original Lakota Sacred Pipe, has a thing or two to say about Native American prophecy and about the troubling times we live in.  He is especially interesting when it comes to explaining the Sacred White Buffalo and its significance in our current times.

  •  Lou Valentino offered us some predictions in 2007 that ranged from the continuing Iraqi war to possible extraterrestrial contact in 2009.  Perhaps his most important prediction for 2008 is that Hillary Clinton is a shoo-in to win the presidential election and gives us three astrological reasons why this is so.  Check out his site for more information and other predictions.

  • Psychic Christopher Reburn also predicts that Hillary Clinton will win the 2008 presidential election.  He also says "Gasoline prices will continue to go up and down, and I do see us reaching around $4.00 a gallon by the middle-to-end part of next year."  In addition, he claims, "OJ Simpson will be sentenced in the spring or summer, and he will have to do time in prison for the Las Vegas incidents that happened. I do see him doing at least 7 years, or more."  He has a lot more to say.

  • On the opposite side of the coin, regarding Hillary Clinton is Matthew and Suzanne Ward, mother and son.  Matthew was killed in a 1980 auto accident.  Fourteen years later, her deceased son began to telepathically communicate with her.  It's interesting to note that these two souls "planned" their inter-dimensional communications long before either was born.  In the October 2006 message he assures us that "Hillary Clinton will not be elected president in 2008 even though she is a strong Illuminati member."  So there you have it.  There is one thing that Matthew stated back in his December 2003 message that still bothers me – that Saddam Hussein's capture was a fraud.  I don't think they would have continued the charade without taking prints and a DNA sample to make absolutely sure the man in question was the real deal.  ...That aside, here's Matthew's message regarding 2008 and his take on "2012."

  • I'm not very political at heart, knowing the ingrained duplicity of the candidates on the ballot, any ballet, anywhere.  Disappointment soon settles in when you discover, again, that he/she is a liar and a whore, just as you thought all along but didn't want to admit.  In any case, someone by the name of Gary at the JokestotheRight.com blog has a list of bi-partisan predictions that come straight from his conservative gut.

  • Derek Clontz, writer and futurist, echoes what many other prophets and seers are saying.  He maintains, "The most dramatic and frightening of the events to come will be the dissolution of the United States."  Read the entire article here.

  • Jonas Roel is an astrologer who began practicing as a young boy and got hooked.  He's a purist when it comes to practicing his craft, insisting on doing his charts the old fashion way, by hand, rather than relying on a computer program.  Reading his predictions for 2008 gives you the impression that he's more even-handed in his outlook than some of the other seers, almost as if he's pulling his punches.

  • Elizabeth Baron offers us a video forecast for 2008 from her usual source, St. Catherine. It's a mixed bag; some good things are predicted, some bad, etc.  Check it out for yourself:

  • Exodus2006.com designates 2006 as the beginning of the "time of distress such as has not happened from the beginning of nations" (Daniel 12:1).  In support of this premise, bible codes and scriptural interpretations are used to back this up.   It was also advised some years ago by the site creator that true believers make their exodus to the mountains of Ethiopia for safety.  I have no idea how many people took advantage of this warning, but it seems to me that whoever did might have jumped out of the frying pan into the fire.  Though this was posted last year, I include it again because it is a starting point for the perspective regarding 2006 as the beginning of the "time of distress…" I don't believe many of us would have any argument concerning this outlook.  From my point of view, however, I think these stressful times began years before 2006.

  •  Conscious Media Network has a host of visionaries who speculate on everything from the Mayan Calendar to settlements on Mars.  It's one of those rare sites that offer more than you expected.  The information is both intelligent and entertaining.  And what's even better is that the interviews are on video.  I highly recommend this one.

  •   TheEnd.com website makes it perfectly clear that 2008 is the year that will increase the tribulations the planet has been enduring since 2001.  Things will be kicked up a notch according to Ronald Weinland, author of 2008—God’s Final Witness and The Prophesied End-Times.  You can download these books for free from the website.  They have a pronounced religious slant that many fundamentalist Christians hold to be true.  If you’re into religious prophecy you may want to take a look at them.

  •  In 2007 T. Chase, architect of the Revelation13.net website offered us his theories about what might happen in the near future.  The one thing that stands out and appears to be a direct hit for 2007 is his belief that an alliance would be formed between Russia, China and Iran, bolstering Iran's chances of acquiring nuclear capabilities sooner than later.  As we know, this has pretty much come to pass.  Mr. Chase has been working on his theories since 1998.  He has since posted a series of videos that might be of interest to some people.  One such video is about world population reaching 6.66 billion people by 2008.  We can plainly see the symbolic significance here.  You will find it listed on his video page.   Check it out.  His website is extensive and you can spend a lot of time roaming around on it.

  •  Armageddon.org tracks world events that they believe are leading toward a biblical climax. They have a lot of cheery stuff concerning nuclear holocaust, devastating tsunamis, earth-asteroid collisions, killer volcanoes, etc.  Very cool site.  Drop by if Armegeddon's your thing.

  • Dr. Michael Rathford gives us his take on a timeline that spans 2008 through 2012.  This one is for Armageddon and Revelation aficionados.  In his book titled The Nostradamus Code: World War III, he tells us that, "The Antichrist will take over Iran by using a human decoy to trick the Iranian Ayatollah in power."  And, "A very bright, previously unknown comet will appear and coincide with the time of great geological troubles, with earthquakes and volcanoes erupting and disrupting weather systems. This will cause widespread famines, droughts, and social upheavals in unexpected places. Nations that are considered prosperous and powerful, particularly western nations, will be weakened."  The book is eight chapters long and can be purchased in hardcover or digital download.  Chapter Four is a freebie.

  • Speaking of comets, the Hopi believe, "When the Blue Star Kachina makes its appearance in the heavens, the Fifth World will emerge."  This will be the day of "Purification."  Mitch Battros wonders if this Blue Star could be Comet 17P/Holmes that exploded in a spectacular outburst on October 24, 2007, increasing in size and brightness, continues to expand, and is now the largest single object in the Solar system, being bigger than the Sun.  To make it even more interesting, Comet 17P/Holmes will be joined by another comet, 8P/Tuttle, on January 2, 2008.  According to Battros, "the scientific community [is] hitting the books, charts, and historical records to find the patterns of comets, planetary alignments, and supernova's which marked certain triangulation events. In very much the exact same way, the metaphysical community is looking closely at religious and tribal prophecy to triangulate the celestial events in the sky today."

  • Christians aren't the only ones waiting for a "savior."  Iran's Ahmadinejad and his spiritual handlers are also waiting for someone called the Mahdi.  Below is a video that will clue you in on what this is all about:

  • Tibetan monks who did some remote viewing to the years 2010 and 2012, warn: "prepare for the ultimate dooms day."  By 2012 the world will come to the brink of nuclear war.  This isn't that difficult to believe, considering what's going on now with Pakistan and other members of the "nuclear community."  What does sound a bit off the wall is that ETs will step in and save the day. Read full story here.

  • In keeping with the nuclear theme, on January 17, 2007, The Bulletin of the Atomic Scientist moved the "doomsday clock" two minutes closer to midnight.  They cite various reasons, including global warming.  Check out their website for further reading and updates.

  •   The Remote Viewer is a site that deals with the subject as well as other psychic issues.  If you're interested in learning how to become a remote viewer, they give lessons.  But I could find nothing specific to 2008.  Nonetheless, Michael St. Clair who is the hub of this website has visions that take us way into the future, far beyond 2012 and with more than a few bumps in the road for the world at large.

  • The Pentagon, as reported on the Guardian Unlimited site, foresees many scary things in our future.  Among them: "Between 2010 and 2020 Europe is hardest hit by climatic change with an average annual temperature drop of 6F. Climate in Britain becomes colder and drier as weather patterns begin to resemble Siberia."   And, "Deaths from war and famine run into the millions until the planet's population is reduced by such an extent the Earth can cope."  Where did they get this information? Remote viewing maybe?

  • Arthur C. Clark, a true visionary, never considered himself a psychic, but for a guy whose future vision changed the world for all time, they're worth looking at.

  • The Internet is a quiet battleground where unsuspecting strollers can get creamed without hearing a sound.  Networkworld tells us about 5 scary security issues to watch out for in 2008 when you're cruising through cyberspace.

  • Aaron Russo was a successful Hollywood producer/director.  He passed away August 24, 2007 of bladder cancer.  The following video is about things past, but what Russo relates is the very crux of what we are enduring right now, a heinous plot that is unfolding everyday and leading us to God knows where.   It's not odd that this information comes from a member of the entertainment communityWhat is interesting is the extent to which he presents his views.  This sort of stuff is left to people like David Icke, Alex Jones, and other assorted conspiracy buffs.  But Russo took it a step further.  He offers alleged firsthand information that comes directly from Nick Rockefeller--yes indeed, those Rockerfellers.  His last film production America: Freedom to Fascism (2006) arrived on the scene with next to nothing by way of publicity, for obvious reasons.  Hats off to him for his display of some very big cojones.  May he rest in peace now that he's out of the fray.  Without question, the video below is something you don't want to miss:

  • In traditional Chinese astrology, 2008 begins the Year of the Earth Rat.  It officially starts Feb. 7, 2008 and runs until Jan 28, 2009.  For the West, it's forecasted that: This is the “arguments” center and is the second worst center this year. It would involve controversies, legal conflicts, wars and battles. It is mostly represented by UK and USA. There would be major happenings in these countries, such as terrorist attacks. In USA, such events may happen even before the federal election, in which a female president should prevail [again intimation of Hillary winning]. BC (Canada) may suffer from any labor problems

  • Robert Camp didn't have anything to say about 2007, and so far he doesn't have anything to say about 2008. But his Card of Destiny reading might be of interest to some people who want to know what the day will be like for them.  And best of all, it's free.

  • Tara Greene gave us a video tarot card reading for 2007.  For 2008,  she says: 2008Begins a new world cycle. 2008=2 + 0 + 0 + 8 = 10 which equals # 1.  The # 1 card in The Tarot Trumps is The Magician, emmanating from the Crown Sephiroth at the Top of the Tree of Life.  That's it, in a nutshell.  Out of this she elaborates on a number of issues, such as Obama will win the Democratic nomination, etc.  Last year, out of 30+ predictions, only one or two managed to make the grade.

  • The mysterious man who writes this blog cites himself as a professional psychic and occultist and gives free advice on the stock market.   It's my guess he's an East Indian.  In 2007, he stated that "President George Bush will Be Remembered As The Worst President In The American History will Be Responsible For downfall of the american influence."  This time around, for 2008, he says, "USA, Pakistan, Britain, Australia, China, France Will become the Worst Countries Of the Century by spreading violence, intolerance, Racism, Extremism, throughout the world.  Western Nations , USA & China Will witness more Natural disasters to come, their lands will go Dry, People will burn with heat & fire, Floods & Typhoons Will destroy their habitat."  Sounds to me like he is most definitely full of extreme anger.

  • For all you capitalist pigs out there who are concerned about the falling dollar, the Economics.org site has a page on their blog that gives dire predictions for the continuing decline of the greenback in 2008.  No surprise there, considering that we're losing wealth like liquid gold spilling out of a sieve due to out-of-control war spending, mortgage scams that have boomeranged, and credit card debt that will soon catch up and add to the misery.

  • Prophecies: A Psychic Prediction Registry is one of many places on the Internet for wannabe psychics to show their stuff.  So if you've had strange, earth-shaking premonitions about the future, this is the place to post them.

  • If predicting Oscar nominees is something you enjoy, the Oscar Frenzy website will cause some to argue the points or concede.  Fact is—out of five movies mentioned—I only recognize two titles.  Guess I'm not into highbrow movies anymore than I'm into highbrow anything else.

  • Sylvia Browne needs no introduction.  Her very name brings forth an emotional response from the listener, good or bad, depending on how you feel about her.  I love to be amazed and sometimes she really pulls one off, like David Blaine or Criss Angel, two master deceivers that are a lot of fun to watch.  Personally, I really don't know what to make of her, except that she's better at "reading" people than making predictions.  But here are some of her predictions for 2008 and beyond.  Take them or leave them, she's still considered one of the top rated psychics in the country, at the very least by Montel Williams.   Here's a site devoted to her downfall, and here's an astrological profile on her by Dr. Turi if you want to know what fuels her.

  • Aside from disliking Sylvia Browne, Dr. Turi also has predictions for 2008 that covers a more general field, everything from celebrity deaths, weddings, etc, to world disasters.  He writes, "The negative Dragon energy that produced all major natural disasters is NOT RANDOM; there is a Divine order produced by the Universal Mind and this Celestial manifestation is not yet understood by modern science. This nefarious stimulus affects both nature and stimulates the violent affairs of the unaware population of earth."   In his 12/16/2007 newsletter, Turi says, "Another serious move is taking place in the Celestial family with Pluto (death/drama) entering the constellation of Capricorn (politics/structuring power) for the first time since 1777. On Friday, January 25, 2008 until 2024 Pluto passage in Capricorn promises to bring about incredible changes to the world at large."  He certainly has his own style and if you're interested in astrological predictions, you may want to check him out.  In mid February he added some videos to YouTube with in depth predictions for 2008.  And here you'll find a YouTube page with predictions made 13 years ago of events that we are currently experiencing.  Without a doubt, he's an original.

  • On The Psychic Detective site there is one predictions for 2008 that deserves mention here: "I feel that there is a very strong likelihood of Rudolph Giuliani running for and subsequently winning the US presidential election in 2008. Giuliani will begin campaigning in early 2007. Senator John McCain may [be] chosen as Vice President." Just for the record, this prediction was made November 2006.

  • The Climate Prediction Center claims to know what's in store for us when it comes to weather changes.  You have to be something of meteorologist to understand the maps, but with a little study you should be able to get the hang of it.

  • The Farmers' Almanac gives their own short and long-range weather forecasts.  Because weather has been such an important element in how it's affected our world these past few years, I thought maybe some of you would like to consult these seasoned sources for additional information.

  • According to Wikipedia, The Lord's Witnesses believe that 2008 "will be the start of world war three which will last until December 21, 2012. At which time they believe that Christ Jesus could return to rule the earth. (Ps 72:7,8,11-14,17)."  Yet one more 2012 tie-in.

  • The TruthStar.com website gives you free astrology and numerology readings, as well as free handwriting analysis.  All services are on a personal level.  Just like last year, I didn't find any world events for 2008 posted.

  • On fourthdimension.net you can have your tarot reading done with the Aleister Crowley tarot cards.  For those unfamiliar with Crowley, he was one of the leading ritual magicians of the 20th century, and reputedly the biological father of Barbara Bush.  And, yes, there is an uncanny resemblance.  If there's any truth to this rumor, it explains much of what W has been up to all this time.  If it's the genes, well, he just can't help himself.
  • And if the tarot isn't your thing, maybe you'd like a free I Ching reading instead.  It works the same as the Crowley Tarot.  Just type your question in the field to see what the oracle says.
  • On AstroProfile.com they have their usual free annual forecasts for the 12 zodiac signs.  They're pretty general but a whole lot cheaper than what you'd pay a professional psychic to tell you.

  • For those of you who want to know about apocalyptic prophesies throughout the ages, check out A Brief History of the Apocalypse. According to their extensive list, which careens well into the future, we should have been history a long, long time ago.

  • Here's one for the scholars and historians, both of ancient and recent history, and history yet to be made.  Mother Shipton died in 1561 and aficionados of prophecy still look to her curious verses for signs of things happening in their time.  Click here for her complete prophecies.

  • And, again, last but far from least, for the morbidly curious, evil.berzerker.net will tell you when you're going to clock-out.  Click here to find out when you'll be making your exit.

"Before the time of the great Purification, they will make metal roads for iron horses and hang metal ropes in the air."

"First they will bring back pieces of the Moon which will upset the balance and unleash disastrous forces."

"Near the day of the Great Purification, there will be cobwebs spun back and forth in the sky."

"The Purification will begin shortly after humans build a great house in the sky. By then there will be fires everywhere and greedy, selfish, power-mad leaders, internal wars."

The Nine Signs of Hopi Prophecy
From White Feather, Bear Clan, Hopi Tribe
"These are the Signs that great
destruction is here: The world shall rock
to and fro. The white man will battle people in
other lands -- those who possessed the first
light of wisdom. There will be many columns
of smoke and fire such as the white man has
made in the deserts not far from here. Those
who stay and live in the places of the Hopi
shall be safe. Then there will be much to
rebuild. And soon, very soon afterward,
Pahana will return. He shall bring with him
the dawn of the Fifth World. He shall plant
the seeds of his wisdom in our hearts. Even
now the seeds are being planted. These
shall smooth the way to the Emergence into
the Fifth World."
The Fourth World shall end soon,
and the Fifth World will begin. This the elders
everywhere know. The Signs over many
years have been fulfilled, and so few are
First Sign: We were told of the
coming of the white-skinned men, like
Pahana, but not living like Pahana -- men
who took the land that was not theirs and
who struck their enemies with thunder.
Second Sign: Our lands will see the
coming of spinning wheels filled with voices.
(Covered wagons)
Third Sign: A strange beast like a
buffalo but with great long horns, will overrun
the land in large numbers. (Longhorn cattle)
Fourth Sign: The land will be
crossed by snakes of iron. (Railroad tracks)
Fifth Sign: The land shall be criss-
crossed by a giant spider's web. (Power and
telephone lines)
Sixth Sign: The land shall be criss-
crossed with rivers of stone that make
pictures in the sun. (Concrete roads and
their mirage-producing effects.)
Seventh Sign: You will hear of the
sea turning black, and many living things
dying because of it. (Oil spills)
Eighth Sign: You will see many
youth, who wear their hair long like our
people, come and join the tribal nations, to
learn our ways and wisdom. (Hippies)
Ninth and Last Sign: You will hear of
a dwelling-place in the heavens, above the
earth, that shall fall with a great crash. It will
appear as a blue star. Very soon after this,
the ceremonies of the Hopi people will
"These are the Signs that great
destruction is coming. The world shall
rock to and fro. The white man will battle
against other people in other lands -- with
those who possessed the first light of
wisdom. There will be many columns of
smoke and fire such as White Feather has
seen the white man make in the deserts not
far from here. Only those which come will
cause disease and a great dying.
"Many of my people, understanding the
prophecies, shall be safe. Those who
stay and live in the places of my people also
shall be safe. Then there will be much to
rebuild. And soon -- very soon afterward --
Pahana will return. He shall bring with him
the dawn of the Fifth World. He shall plant
the seeds of his wisdom in their hearts. Even
now the seeds are being planted. These
shall smooth the way to the Emergence into
the Fifth World.
"But White Feather shall not see it. I
am old and dying. You -- perhaps will see it.
In time, in time---"
